Back in September, 41 year old Joseph Goss admitted to raping a young girl several times over the course of two years.

The victim described being fondled, forced to touch Goss and have sex with him on multiple occasions.

The victim was between the ages of 11 and 13 when the abuse occurred.

On Monday, Goss was sentenced to a minimum of 25 years behind bars for these crimes, which the defense blamed on alcohol.

The prosecution read a statement from the victim, detailing the impact these heinous act have had on her. That statement reads in part:

"His abuse has caused immense emotional and psychological damage, affecting my ability to trust others and leaving me with lasting trauma. I am glad that he is where he is now, facing the consequences of his actions. I hope that through this court process, he will learn a valuable lesson."

In addition to the 25 year sentence, Goss must register as a tier three sex offender.
