Deer gun hunting season begins in Ohio, here's what to know
Deer hunting season with guns has begun in Ohio as of Monday. Here's everything you need to know.
Hunting with guns will take place in Ohio all this week from Monday, December 2 until Sunday, December 8 and a bonus weekend will take place Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 22.
Hunting hours are 30 minutes to sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset. As in years past, only one antlered deer may be harvested regardless of where or how it is taken.
Hunters are limited on how many deer they can harvest during the season with that number varying depending on the county. In all three Mahoning Valley counties, hunters are limited to three deer all season.
Hunters must also tag and check all harvested deer. You can do this by filling out your hunting permit with the date and time of the harvest and the county it was done in and submit that data to the HuntFish Ohio app.
You can also submit that data here, by calling 1-877-TAG-IT-OH or in person at any authorized license sales agent. This process must be done prior to removing the deer's head.

Meanwhile in Pennsylvania, deer hunting season with guns began Saturday, November 30 and will continue until Saturday, December 14.
Like in Ohio, only one antlered deer may be harvested per season and an antlerless with each requiring an antlerless license. All hunters must wear orange at all times in both states.
