POLICE: Man fires several shots during Thanksgiving dinner with children present in Youngstown
Police in Youngstown are investigating after officers say a man fired several shots at a Thanksgiving dinner gathering with several children present.
According to a police report, the incident happened at a home on Lake Drive near Volney Road where a family was having Thanksgiving dinner.
Police say around 8 p.m., a man showed up at the house with a gun and the people in the house told him to put it away in his car for the children's safety.
Police say the suspect did not listen and started walking in the kitchen where the children were eating before adults in the home moved them to the second floor.
According to the report, the man fired four shots at the ceiling and left the home, got in his car and fired five to seven more shots at the house before driving away.
Police found four shell casings inside the home and seven more in the road.
Police say the house itself did not appear to be struck by the gunfire outside and nobody in the home was hurt. No arrests have been made yet and charges do not appear to have been filed at this time.
