Hubbard Police report spike in car break-ins, thefts in city

Hubbard Police are warning residents to stay alert due to a recent uptick in vehicle thefts and break-ins have been reported in the city.

Hubbard Police Chief Robert Thompson did not have a specific amount of vehicles that fell victim to these crimes, but confirmed that there have been multiple reports of both break-ins and thefts over the past four days.

Chief Thompson says these reports primarily come from residential areas and are not necessarily limited to just one neighborhood.

Thompson says the police department has since increased patrols throughout the city during the overnight shift in order to combat these crimes. Thompson went on to say Tuesday night was quiet in terms of car thefts and break-ins.

Thompson says police do have multiple suspects in mind in this case. In the meantime, Thompson suggests residents to lock their vehicles in order avoid becoming victim to a break-in or theft.
