A teacher from Grove City was arrested and is facing 63 charges of possessing child pornography, disseminating photos or films of child sex acts, and criminal use of a communication facility.

Michael Boston, 40, was arrested following an investigation spanning 2+ years regarding the upload of explicit material involving minors.

Pennsylvania State Police first received notification of the alleged crimes through a tip on the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) in October 25, 2022.

The information was regarding the detection of child pornography within the cloud computer servers under a number belonging to a Verizon customer.

Police went to Verizon with an administrative subpoena and were given the customer's information.  The number belonged to Michael Boston of Grove City.

Boston was a teacher who specialized in educating the hearing impaired.

He worked for Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 and traveled to the different schools Riverview services until police contacted the organization to inform them of the investigation.

On October 11, police went to Boston's home and served him a search warrant. Boston refused to speak with officers.

Police say the two devices contained a total of 1,500 files containing explicit materials involving minors as young as 2-3 months old.  Michael Boston was arrested on October 30, 2024.

Following Boston's arrest, Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 Executive Director Michael Stahlman said, "For all within the organization, keep your head high. We have done great things for those we serve and will continue to do so in the face of adversity."

Michael Boston is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.

The district told 21 News Boston is no longer employed in the district.
