A Rosary Garden is currently under construction at the St. Paul Monastery in Ellsworth. The garden will serve as a peaceful place for prayer for the community.

The Rosary Garden is designed in the shape of a rosary necklace and will feature 59 engraved beads, each weighing between 200 to 300 pounds. These beads will be installed along the walkway, starting at the crucifix to resemble a handheld rosary.

"People can come out and walk the rosary and pray in an outdoor setting. As you walk by each bead, you can pray at each one, just as you would if you were holding the rosary in your hand. There will also be a bench at each mystery, so you can sit, reflect, and meditate on each of the mysteries," said Patty Durkin, of the Friends of the St. Paul Monastery.

Opportunities to donate to the project are still available. To learn more, call 330-565-2810 or visit the St. Paul’s gift shop in Ellsworth.

The Rosary Garden at St. Paul Monastery is expected to open to the public before Christmas at 9531 W Akron-Canfield Rd, Canfield.
