Youngstown Police say car drove 100mph before crash on South Avenue
A driver who police say has two different names faces a court hearing on Wednesday after Youngstown police say a car traveling 100 miles per hour along South Avenue forced other cars to scatter before crashing.
A city patrolman reports following the speeding car as it ran through more than half a dozen red traffic lights from Lucius Avenue to Interstate 680 during Monday morning’s rush hour, forcing other vehicles to move out of the way.
The Hyundai veered into a dump truck's fuel tank, forcing the truck's hood to flip open.
The car slid over a curb on the South Avenue Peace Officers Memorial Bridge, not far from the Covelli Center.
After determining that no one was injured in the collision, the officer handcuffed the driver of the Hyundai who told him she didn’t know what the problem was, and that she “just likes to drive real fast”.
Although the driver identified herself as Willow Eisenman, Police found another driver’s license in the car with the same social security number, but under the name of Jason Tray.
Although the officer said in the report that it appears that Tray and Eisenman are the same person, Eisenman denied that conclusion, claiming Tray is her husband.
The driver was booked into the county jail under the name of Jason Tray.
However, according to Youngstown Municipal Court records, Eisenman has been charged with obstructing official business and reckless operation.
A court hearing is scheduled at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
