Veterans in Mahoning and Trumbull counties are invited to a virtual town hall focusing on recent expansions to Veteran’s Administration health care eligibility, particularly for Veterans exposed to toxins during their service

The town hall is hosted by the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System and is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST.

As of March 5, 2024, all Veterans who served in specific combat zones, including Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Global War on Terror, are eligible for VA health care without needing to apply for disability benefits. Additionally, Veterans exposed to toxins while training or on active duty – even within the United States – may also be eligible.

The town hall will also address reasons Veterans might choose VA healthcare.
