Kindergarteners at Jackson Milton Elementary School are collecting food and other comfort items for active duty military members serving overseas in observance of Veterans Day.
Students in Mrs. Sue Prozy's class launched the drive this week and are collecting and sorting donation items to send to those serving overseas.
Items collected include powdered drink mixes for water, hot chocolate, protein bars, beef jerky, cough drops, mints, gum, chapstick, playing cards, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant and much more.
Prozy tells 21 News the donations will not be sent until late next week due to itemized lists needing to be made and addresses needing to be secured. Donations can be dropped off until early next week.
