Authorities are investigating the murder of a 37-year-old man at a home on Youngstown’s Southside.

Around 2 am Friday, the Youngstown Police Department an an ambulance was dispatched to the 2200 block of Montclair Avenue to investigate a report that a man had been shot.

Officers and EMTs began life-saving measures on the 37-year-old man who succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s name has not yet been released

Detectives, the Crime Scene Unit, and the Mahoning County Coroner's Office are investigating the shooting which is being treated as a homicide.

Detectives are analyzing evidence and speaking to witnesses.

Police say there may be people who were in the area at the time that may have seen or heard something.

Tips leading to an arrest or prosecution may be eligible for and award, according to police.
