Salem woman accused of setting apartment fire, risking twelve lives
A Salem woman has been arrested after the Columbiana County Grand Jury handed up a secret indictment alleging that she set fire to an apartment, risking the lives of 12 people, including two first responders.
Thirty-three-year-old Alicia Craig was booked into the county jail Tuesday on two felony counts of aggravated arson.
Investigators accuse Craig of setting fire to an apartment building on East 6th Street in Salem on May 2.
The State Fire Marshal investigated the blaze which resulted in one firefighter needing hospital treatment for a knee injury, and one of the apartment’s residents suffering minor burns.
The indictment names two first responders and ten other people whose lives were put at risk because of the fire.
Bond for Craig was set at $50,000 during her arraignment on Tuesday. She’s due back in court on October 31.
