Prosecutors got the sentence they desired in the case of a man convicted in a child rape case in Campbell.

The prosecution recommended a 20-year prison term for 44-year-old Christopher Figueroa, who pled guilty in July to two counts of rape in connection with the rapes of a juvenile victim.

Judge Anthony D'Apolito upheld the prosecution's request handing Figueroa a sentence of 20 years in prison followed by five years of probation.

Figueroa was originally hit with 26 charges including 13 more rape counts, nine counts of sexual battery and two counts of gross sexual imposition, most of which were dropped as a result of a plea deal.

Last month, Judge D’Apolito denied Figueroa’s request to withdraw his guilty plea.

Figueroa’s former co-defendant, Susan Molleken, turned 43-years-old Wednesday in the Ohio Reformatory for Women where she is serving a ten-year sentence handed down after pleading guilty to rape.

Investigators say the crimes occurred between 2006 and 2023 involving two victims, one as young as 6 and the other as young as 12.

As part of the plea deal, Figueroa would have to register as a tier 3 sex offender.
