The Weathersfield Police Department is investigating a drive by shooting that wounded a man at a township home over the weekend.

According to a police report, Officers were called to check out a report of gunfire along Heaton Blvd just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

A caller to 911 reported a black, older model Chevrolet truck was seen driving through the area, with people inside firing shots from the vehicle.

While on the way, officers received additional reports that a victim had been shot at a home on the 1300 block of Heaton Blvd.

Police say there were between 15 and 20 people at the home where one man was found with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Officers administered first aid to the victim who was then taken to a Youngstown hospital.

Investigators found multiple shell casings at the scene, including seven total casings from two different calibers: three .223-caliber casings and four .45-caliber casings. The casings were found in the driveway, yard, and street near the Heaton Blvd. home.

A car parked in the home’s driveway had a bullet hole in the windshield and a shattered rear window.

It appears that one of the rounds fired struck the vehicle, and continued into the front of the house, with a bullet entering the bathroom, according to police.

The bullet traveled through the outer wall, through the bathroom door, and into the interior wall.

Witnesses told police that the two suspects were males.
