Rick Hernandez elected as Trumbull County Commissioner

Trumbull County has selected a new commissioner.

Rick Hernandez (R) will serve as commissioner for the next four years, winning with 56.1% of the vote.

Hernandez is a Hubbard Township Trustee and previously ran for commissioner in 2022, losing in the primary to current Commissioner Denny Malloy.

The seat is currently held by Niki Frenchko, who Hernandez defeated in the primary election.

Polivka served as a Trumbull County Commissioner between 2004 and 2020, losing his seat to Niki Frenchko. Before becoming a commissioner, Polivka spent 20 years on Warren City Council.
