The race for Ohio Senate 32nd District saw Incumbent Sandra O’Brien (R) easily defeat Michael Shrodeck (D), 90,258 votes to 54,224 votes.

District 63 consists of Ashtabula and Trumbull counties and part of Geauga County.

O’Brien has been in office since 2021 after she defeated Sean O’Brien (D) and in March defeated challenger Mike Loychik in the primary election.

O’Brien told 21 News her goal in reelection is to continue to bring back taxpayers money back to the region.

Shrodek worked as a teacher for 36 years in the Niles City Schools and was a former Republican but switched parties over concerns of how the state was taking funds away from school districts and giving the money for education vouchers.

Ohio state senate seats are four-year terms.
