Mercer County organizations are awarded $8.5 million in improvement projects
The Pennsylvania Office of the Budget has awarded $8.5 million to aid in improvement projects in Mercer County.
The funding is awarded through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).
The RACP is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the state Office of the Budget for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
The following organizations have been awarded the improvement grants:
- Alpine Springs Linesville LLC. They have been awarded $1 million to expand the Alpine Springs Recovery Center to a 68-bed facility.
- Lindy Paving Inc. They have been awarded $6 million to construct a new energy-efficient asphalt plant.
- City of Hermitage. They have been awarded $1.25 million for the construction of nine pickleball courts and the expansion of parking and pedestrian accessibility at the Hermitage Athletic Complex.
- Thiel College. $250,000 will go towards renovating and expanding the Thiel College Academic Center.
