The former Youngstown City Schools Dean of Students has reached a plea deal in a domestic violence case according to Girard Municipal Court records.

During a court hearing earlier this week, it was announced that 45-year-old Chivas Whipple will enter a plea on November 7.  The court entry did not reveal what charge or charges Whipple is expected to plead to.

The case stems from a February 24 incident where Whipple allegedly slammed his daughter against a car and slapped her because she refused to tell him where she had been.

The court issued a temporary protection order and ordered him to undergo anger management while the case was still pending.

Whipple, who was placed on leave by Youngstown Schools following the charges, eventually was let go by the Board of Education.

Whipple, who was also a basketball coach at East High School, served as the Dean of Students since July 2021.
