Appeal of convicted Warren murderer denied by court

An appeal by a Warren man convicted of murder has been denied.
The Ohio 11th District Court of Appeals denied the appeal of 30-year-old Kashaun Williams, who was convicted of aggravated murder, attempted murder, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, felonious assault, assault on a peace officer and receiving stolen property in November of 2023.
In April of 2023, Warren Police arrived at 690 Lener Avenue around 4 a.m. on Palm Sunday to investigate reports of gunfire. Once on scene, officers say they found the body of 34-year-old James Chapman, and Williams forcing 23-year-old Martina Moore into a vehicle.
After forcing Moore into the vehicle, Williams fled the scene in the vehicle and allegedly dropped a firearm while leaving. Moore sustained a gunshot injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Williams is also accused of punching a female officer as he was being arrested.
In his appeal, Williams and his attorney claimed that the state provided insufficient evidence at trial to gain convictions, and the judge erred in allowing the amending of the felonious assault charge.
The appeals court ruled that the assignment of errors lacked merit and upheld Williams' convictions and sentence.
Williams was sentenced to life without parole.
