A Mahoning County Grand Jury indicted a Campbell man on Thursday on three counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

49-year-old Thomas Steele was indicted on charges of allegedly inappropriately touching a child and showing her pornography.

Steele is charged with sexual contact with a child under the age of thirteen, which, according to the indictment, happened between March 11, 2017, and March 10, 2019.

According to a police report, police first learned of this alleged conduct in July of 2023 when the victim and her mother showed up at the Campbell Police Department to file a report.

The victim's mother told police the alleged conduct happened five years prior when the child was playing hide and seek with the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Thomas Steele.

Police say Steele inappropriately touched the victim's buttocks and genitalia on two separate occasions.

Additionally, police say there was another occasion when Steele was watching pornography on his computer and allegedly showed the victim what he was watching.

According to court records, Steele is charged with gross sexual imposition and disseminating matters harmful to juveniles. He was arraigned in August on these charges.

Steele was also indicted on three counts involving drugs from a September 10 incident, with one count of possession of cocaine, one count of aggravated possession of drugs and one count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
