VIDEO: Halloween costume shoplifting suspect arrested in Niles cemetery
A Warren woman accused of shoplifting Halloween costumes will spend Halloween and Thanksgiving in jail.
Fifty-seven-year-old Tina Cardona has been sentenced to sixty days in jail after Niles Police arrested her on Wednesday for stealing from the Spirit Halloween Store in Niles.
Cardona had allegedly fled the store with three costumes, including an "Artic Yeti" and a "Sassy Maid.”
NPD officers pursued Cardona, who ultimately abandoned her car and fled on foot. She was apprehended after a brief pursuit that ended in Oakwood Cemetery.
Cardona was charged with theft and failure to comply with the signal/order of a police officer. She has since pleaded guilty to fleeing charge and was sentenced to two months in jail. The theft charge was dismissed, but Cardona has been banned from the Spirit Halloween store.
Cardona could be out of jail by Christmas Eve.
