A Sharpsville man who has been classified as a "Major Drug Offender" will spend more than a decade in prison.

Donteill Grant, 45, was given a mandatory 11 to 16-and-a-half year prison sentence and fined $10,000 after being found guilty on charges of trafficking and possession of cocaine.

The jury took only 12 minutes to reach their verdict on Monday, bringing an end to the one-day trial.

Grant has a criminal record, having served 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery with firearm specifications, along with 18 months for carrying a concealed weapon and having weapons under disability.

According to the release, Grant was found to have nearly 500 grams of cocaine with a street value of $10,000. He was stopped by Brookfield Police before driving away, beginning a chase.

It ended with Grant being stopped a short time later with police finding about half a kilo of crack and powder cocaine in his pants pocket.

Brookfield Police Chief Aaron Kasiewicz said this was the biggest drug bust he's aware of by his department.
