New grocery store coming to former Save-A-Lot storefront in Hubbard
Just months after the Save-A-Lot grocery store in Hubbard closed its doors due to its owners owing several hundred thousand dollars in rent, a new grocery store will be taking its place.
Hubbard Mayor Ben Kyle confirmed with 21 News that a new grocery store called Price Cutter will be moving in to the building. Mayor Kyle says there is no official opening date yet, but the store is expected to open near Thanksgiving.
Kyle says the store was described to him as a "hybrid store" and a cross between a discount store and conventional grocery store.
According to Price Cutter's website, the Hubbard location will be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. seven days a week.
This will be the first Price Cutter location in the Mahoning Valley. Currently the closest store is located in Lucasville, Ohio.
