11th season of horse racing to begin at Hollywood Gaming

Beginning Saturday, Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course will be welcoming the return of live Thoroughbred racing. 

The first race is scheduled to start at 12:05 p.m. Saturday on a card that features eight races. 

Stakes racing begins October 26 with the "Best of Ohio" program featuring many of the top Ohio Bred Thoroughbreds. That day, attendees will be treated to five races totaling $500,000 in purse money. 

Starting at 12:05 p.m. November 25, the racing card will feature the Steel Valley Spring, a 6 furlong race for 3-year-old horses competing for a share of $300,000.

Also featured on the card is the Sheryl C. White Memorial, a race for 3-year-old fillies and a purse of $200,000.

There is also regularly scheduled Monday-Thursday racing. Live racing continues through April 12, 2025.
