Partners plan homes for autistic individuals in Struthers, Boardman

A Mahoning Valley non-profit dedicated to empowering and enriching the lives of autistic individuals has announced plans to build housing for the people it serves.
A fundraising event last Thursday at Canfield's Firefly Farms raised over $14,000 to support the mission of Dylan’s House to build housing for individuals with autism. The event also revealed key partnerships that will make the homes a reality.
Struthers Mayor Catherine Cercone Miller announced her city’s donation of land for the construction of a house in Struthers. Dawn Ochman, of Dawn Incorporated, a commercial construction company based in Warren, Ohio, will manage the project.
The second home will be built in Boardman on land donated by Sam and Donna Boak. Trisha Howe, Executive Director of the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Mahoning Valley, announced that the house will be located on South Avenue and will be co-managed by Alexander Construction and Custom Designed Homes by Mark Ramunno.
