A section of New Castle Road will be closed temporarily following a fuel spill Monday afternoon.
Crews from the Western Reserve Joint Fire District tell 21 News a truck was leaking diesel fuel on Broad Street turning onto New Castle Road. Crews say the rain mixing with the fuel is making the roads slippery.
The fuel leak was caused by an injector pump failing.
Crews have placed sand in the roadway to absorb the fuel. New Castle will be closed at the Hubbard Road intersection while this cleanup takes place.
Drivers near Coits Road told 21 News they were having trouble navigating a hill in the area.
Drivers should avoid the area until the cleanup is complete. It is unclear how long it will take for the road to reopen.
