Investigators are looking for the cause of a fire that destroyed a house in New Castle late Sunday.

Firefighters were called to the corner of Marshall and Stanton Avenues at around 9 p.m. and found flames had spread throughout the vacant two-story home.

Crews worked to prevent the flames from spreading to a nearby home. The heat was so intense that the siding of the neighboring home began to melt.

Fire departments were on the scene for several hours.  No injuries have been reported.
