Bookworms across the valley are heading over to Westminster Presbyterian Church for their annual used book sale. Now in its 68th year, the event brings hundreds of visitors to the church to peruse genres from new fiction, to cooking and gardening, and some "old and unusual" finds.

This year's event features a selection of around 40,000 books, a majority of which are priced at or around one dollar each.

Despite having less books donated than in some years past, the book committee's co-chair said she's surprised the event continues to be such a big success after so many years.

"I think we thought that the introduction of e-books, we would not find donations," Jan Machel noted. "And it continues to surprise us how many people still want to hold a book."

The Westminster Presbyterian Church used book sale continues through Friday, October 11.

On Thursday, all paperback books will be reduced to 25 cents.
On Friday, all books will be marked 50% off until 4:00pm. From 4pm -to 7pm, books will cost $1.00 per bag.
