The City of Warren will be holding a meeting Tuesday afternoon to discuss streetlight maintenance in the city.

Warren Third Ward Councilman Greg Greathouse tells 21 News there are several streetlights throughout the city that are out and not working with no work being done to fix the issue.

That's why Greathouse called representatives from Ohio Edison for a meeting to discuss the issue.

Greathouse says the city is being overbilled for these streetlights because the city pays a flat rate of about $9 per streetlight per month including the ones that are defective and not being fixed.

Greathouse went on to say these streetlights being out could potentially increase the risk of crashes due to reduced visibility on the roadway.

The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. in the Warren Council Caucus Room.
