Two injured as crash closes southbound Route 11 in Canfield

Two people were injured in an accident that shut down the southbound lanes of State Route 11 in Canfield Thursday morning.

The two-vehicle crash occurred south of the Route 224 overpass at around 7:30 a.m.

Investigators say one person was thrown through the windshield and is hospitalized in critical condition.  A victim trapped in the second vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Traffic was backed up on the Route 224 exit ramp as cars and trucks were rerouted.
