The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC) marked the completion of two new duplexes on Glenwood Avenue on Tuesday.

The new project created four apartment units each with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open concept living, a kitchen, a dining area and in-unit laundry. Each unit has both covered and visitor parking.

YNDC Executive Director Ian Beniston tells 21 News this is just one of many projects in the group's efforts to revitalize the Glenwood Avenue Corridor.

"We've been working on the Glenwood Corridor for well over a decade now. I think most people know we started working in the Idora neighborhood. There was an active group of residents when YNDC was in its early stages. We worked with them to board up houses [and] just really start eliminating blight. And then we've continued to incrementally take steps to stabilize and revitalize," Beniston said. 

Beniston says this is only the first phase of the project with the second phase expected to break ground in the spring of 2025. The second phase will add three more duplexes to the site.

The duplexes are now available for rent now with rent costing $750 per month.
