The Ohio Department of Transportation has proposed resurfacing and bridge replacement projects for Routes 616 and 422 in the City of Campbell and Coitsville Township.

The project will include resurfacing work on Routes 616 and 422, as well as the replacement of the U.S. 422 bridge just west of Hubbard Road.

The proposed project would cost $2,331,589 and is currently in its preliminary engineering phase. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2025.

During construction, a minimum of one 10-foot bidirectional lane of traffic will be maintained on Route 616. On 422, a minimum of one 10-foot lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction except for the bridge site.

At the bridge site, two-way traffic will be maintained via a temporary traffic signal. Access to all adjacent properties, businesses and side streets will be maintained.

The project will result in minor stream impacts and the removal of trees, which may provide suitable wooded habitat for bat species protected by the Endangered Species Act.

Any concerns regarding this project can be directed to Sean Carpenter at 330-786-2274 or [email protected].
