An actor from the long-running NBC drama series "Days of Our Lives" has died at the age of 70.

According to a statement released on the show's Facebook page, actor Drake Hogestyn, who played the character of John Black died after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

"He was the most amazing husband, father, papa and actor. He loved performing for the Days audience and sharing the stage with the greatest cast, crew and production team in the business," the statement reads.
