Struthers football standout accused of assaulting girl ordered to have electronic monitoring
A Struthers High School Football standout who was accused of assaulting a 16-year-old girl appeared for arraignment in juvenile court on Tuesday.
A representative for Judge Theresa Dellick told 21 News 17-year-old Jason Dukes was ordered to have electronic monitoring. He is allowed to continue to attend school but is to have no contact with the victim.
Dukes is facing a misdemeanor charge of assault, as well as a felony charge of strangulation after he allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old girl during a fight after a football game.
Police say Dukes wouldn't let the girl out of the car and eventually grabbed her by the neck followed by the two wrestling in the front yard of a home.
Dukes is due back in juvenile court for a pretrial hearing October 30 at 10:30 a.m.
