Struthers football standout accused of assaulting 16-year-old girl
A Struthers High School football standout is charged after police say he assaulted a teenage girl following a football game Friday night.
According to juvenile court records, 17-year-old Jason Dukes is charged with a misdemeanor count of assault and a felony count of strangulation stemming from a fight with the teen victim.
The victim told police she and Dukes were on their way back from a party following the football game when they got into an argument.
Police say once the two got to a home on Elm Street, Dukes wouldn't let her out of the car and eventually grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground.
From there, police say the two wrestled in the front yard. That's when a resident noticed the two fighting and called the police.
According to the police report, the victim's sister told officers this was not the first time Dukes had done something like this.
