Suspect in New York homicide arrested in Youngstown
The suspect in a New York homicide has been arrested in Youngstown by U.S. Marshals.
According to a press release, 49-year-old Jose Feliciano was found in a home on the 1900 Block of Wolosyn Circle in Youngstown on Wednesday. He was booked in the Mahoning County Jail.
Feliciano was wanted on a murder charge out of Brooklyn, New York stemming from an incident in February where 61-year-old Laurence Hopkins was stabbed while working as a bouncer at a bar.
According to the release, Hopkins was attempting to assist a coworker involved in a fight with patrons when he was stabbed. Feliciano was named as a suspect in the stabbing.
A warrant was issued for Feliciano in June.
Feliciano will remain jailed in the Valley until he can be extradited back to New York to answer to his charges. Court records do not show an arraignment date for Feliciano at this time.
