Flying High Inc. held a ribbon cutting ceremony for two new facilities for those struggling and recovering from addiction in the Valley.

The non-profit cut the ribbon on a new sober living recovery house on Kensington Avenue, as well as a new professional development center right next to the new house.

The Molina Training Facility houses Flying High's blueprint reading/fitting and carpentry courses, as well as pre and post-employment skill building courses.

Flying High Executive Director Jeff Magada says the two facilities will help get people back on their feet and learn employment skills to build up a resume.

"We have worked hard at listening to their needs and belabored to provide them workforce development opportunities to achieve their hopes and dreams regardless of how much wreckage they may have had in their past," Magada said.

The construction of the Eagle's Nest II recovery house was made possible thanks to funding from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, The Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board and the Youngstown Foundation.

Meanwhile, the Molina Training Facility was funded thanks to Ohio capital funding, the Appalachian Regional Commission via Eastgate and Molina Healthcare Inc.
