Over 1,000 people in Mercer under water boil alert

Over 1,000 people in Mercer County are under a boil alert. 

Aqua Pennsylvania crews are responding to a water pipe failure impacting more than 1,100 customers in the Mercer community served by the Shenango Valley Water System. 

As a precaution, a Boil Water Advisory has been issued for Aqua Pennsylvania customers in the affected area. 

Customers are advised to to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice.
