Suspected serial shoplifter jailed for multiple Boardman thefts
A Youngstown man suspected of being a serial shoplifter in Boardman is jailed on a dozen counts of theft and other charges.
Fifty-one-year-old Kevin Brown was booked into the county jail on arrest warrants issued by township police for alleged crimes dating back to last October.
According to police reports Brown is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars worth of goods including a lawnmower, microwave, shower heads, faucets, edge trimmer, a blower, icemaker, tools, flooring, electronics, a grille, flooring, and groceries.
Stores listed as victims include Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Meijer. Some of the stores were hit more than once, according to police.
In one instance, Brown allegedly went past the cash registers without paying and loaded the stolen goods into a U-Haul truck before driving away.
One report says Brown shoplifted more than $500 worth of perfume from a Southern Park Mall department store.
Brown was arrested Thursday after failing to appear for an earlier court date.
