Beeghly Center, main lobby have new names thanks to $1.5 million in donations

As work continues inside Beeghly Center with new seats installed, big changes are coming.

Thanks to a one-million dollar donation from the Tom Zidian family, the facility is now The Zidian Family Arena at the Beeghly Center.

Also, the south lobby is now the Window World Fred & Lucy Moran Lobby after a $500,000 donation.

YSU men's basketball chief of staff Rocco Nolfi couldn't be happier, "The Moran Family have been huge supporters of ours and the university, and Pat and Fred Moran, what a great opportunity to let a local family's legacy live on."

The renovations include all new seating, except the end zones, new video boards, and a sound system.

"What Tom (Zidian) and his family have been able to do for us is nothing but amazing. He's been a large supporter, not just on the court, but his passion for what he sees on the court is huge as well. He's become a dear friend of the program and stepped up really big for us to make this project a possibility."

The lower bowl will be completed in the next few days before the women's volleyball home opener on September 20.
