Three Lawrence County school districts get grants for environmental repairs
Three school districts in Lawrence County will receive funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Eduction's Environmental Repair Grants program.
The Mohawk, Laurel and Union Area school districts will receive more than $1 million in grant money.
The Mohawk School District is receiving $755,168 in funding, the Laurel School District will receive $478,282 and the Union Area School District is getting $25,367.
In total, $75 million in grant money will be distributed throughout 109 school districts and career and technical centers.
The Environmental Repair Grant program are given to districts to improve water infrastructure, eliminate contamination and addressing environmental hazards.
Since the program's launch, $275 million has been allocated to districts across the state.
