A Boardman man is behind bars after police say he pulled a revolver on a woman's dog and threatened to shoot it.

According to a police report, a woman was walking her dog on Shadyside Drive Sunday evening when her neighbor, identified as 63-year-old Daryl Vaclav was walking down his driveway.

Police say the woman's dog moved slightly towards Vaclav but she pulled it back and assured Vaclav the dog wouldn't hurt him.

Vaclav allegedly responded "I hope not because I will kill that [expletive] dog" followed by pulling out a revolver and pointing it at the dog. Police say the woman then ran back home.

Police spoke with Vaclav who told officers he told the woman to control her dog, but denied pulling a gun or threatening to shoot the dog. However, police say Vaclav did admit to owning a revolver.

Vaclav was placed under arrest and was searched. Police say a revolver was found in his left pocket and an empty gun holster in his right pocket.

Vaclav is charged with one count of aggravated menacing and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday morning.
