A tailgate and car show event in Boardman is showing their support for former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar.
In July, Kosar announced that he would need a liver transplant after suffering from cirrhosis of the liver, and Parkinson's Disease.
The Superfan Tailgate and Car Show Extravaganza at Mission Barbecue is helping Kosar, while also hoping to bring attention to the illness.
"He came out publicly with his illness, and we thought it would be a good idea to raise awareness of the situation," said event organizer Ray Prisby.
Kosar was at the event, and according to Prisby, was in high spirits while meeting with fans and signing autographs.
"From the moment he got here he lit up like a Christmas tree, he's talking to everyone, signing autographs, shaking hands. So today I think he's doing good and he probably needs more events like this, people supporting him," said Prisby.
The car show also had games, a best tailgate competition and a visit from the Cleveland Browns mascot.
