An 18-year-old driver faces a court hearing after a State Trooper clocked him driving his new car at 104 miles per hour in a 55-mph zone near his Lisbon home.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol released a dashcam and bodycam video from June 18 when a Trooper says radar recorded his BMW speeding along State Route 45 in Salem Township.

The video shows the OSP cruiser making a U-turn to follow Parker Burt’s car, which immediately pulled over onto a side street.

Burt, who told the Trooper that he just got the car a week before, said he had been passing another car that had been traveling about ten miles per hour below the speed limit.

The Trooper told him that the car Burt passed was going 58 miles per hour, which is faster than the speed limit.

Although the Trooper told Burt he admired his car, he issued him a speeding ticket.

“Sweet car but you’ve got to get it under control. We had a double fatal at this intersection. Don’t be the next one,” said the Trooper.

Burt has a hearing in Columbiana County Municipal Court later this month.
