Organist returns to Trinity United Methodist Church to honor fellow musician killed in Boardman accident
Trinity United Methodist church held a special mass to honor the life of their former organist, who was hit and killed by a car in Boardman.
Sean Baran, 35, died in July, after being hit by a car while walking along Fairlawn Avenue.
In honor Baran's memory, fellow musician and former Trinity United organist Adam Zagotti returned to the church, to play the instrument that brought him and Baran together as co-workers and friends.
"Not a day goes by where I don't think of him, but he would want everyone to keep making music everyday, so we are here for that purpose today," said Zagotti.
Zagotti began working a the church in 2009, and hired Baran as his final music assistant before leaving the church in 2015.
"Back then, you couldn't get him to play the organ no matter how hard you tried, and then one day he decided he was actually going to do it and he excelled at it so rapidly and became one of the finest organists in the area," said Zagotti.
Zagotti performed Adagio in G minor on the organ during the service.
