Steward Health hospitals in Trumbull County are re-open and fully operational, following an agreement between Steward and its landlord.

This includes all emergency room services and admissions.

A spokesperson for the hospital sent the following statement Saturday afternoon:

"At this time, Trumbull Regional Medical Center is off EMS diversion and reopen to all admissions. Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital is also open to admissions.
All efforts to close both Trumbull Regional and Hillside have been paused and both facilities will remain fully operational."

Trumbull Regional and Hillside stopped admitting new patients earlier this week as the hospitals prepared to close.

The landlord, Medical Properties Trust, Inc. (MPT), will take over operating costs while Steward transitions to new owners if the agreement is signed by September 10. In the meantime, Steward will work to repay existing debts.
