Highlandtown Lake in Columbiana County is being having its water level lowered as crews get ready for dam repairs.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) says lowering the water levels for dam repairs could limit access to boat ramps and have an impact on hunting, fishing and wildlife watching through the rest of the year.
Both of the area's boat ramps will be out of commission for the next few weeks and ODNR staff will evaluate when they are able to be used again.
The 170-acre Highlandtown Lake was completed in 1966 and the overall wildlife area covers 2,269 acres.
