The demolition date for the Coalburg Lake Dam in Hubbard has once again been pushed back.

Hubbard Township Trustee Jason Tedrow tells 21 News an amended judgment entry filed in the Trumbull County Court on Wednesday has pushed the demolition date back to 2026.

The demolition was originally set to begin at the end of June of 2024. Now, the filing lists a new timeline for the demolition.

According to the filing, Coalburg Land Partners, who owns the property with the dam, is ordered to submit preliminary plans for the demolition to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) by the end of November of 2025.

The owners must then submit their final plans to ODNR by the beginning of March of 2026. From there, work on the demolition is scheduled to start at the end of July of 2026 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of November of 2026.

In 2023, Hubbard residents started a petition to try and save Coalburg Lake fearing the demolition of the dam and draining of the lake. This extension would give these residents more time to raise more funds to achieve that goal.
