Explosives training to be held this week at Camp James A. Garfield
It may be a loud week for businesses and folks living near Camp James A. Garfield.
That's because explosives are set to be used during training conducted by the Ohio Army National Guard's 147th Regiment.
The training will be held this Wednesday and Thursday Aug. 28-29, according to a news release from the Ohio Adjutant General's Department.
Explosives will be used in training scenarios designed for soldiers taking the combat engineer course.
Part of the annual training season, explosions and gun fire will be heard intermittently.
The season lasts through September, according to the Ohio Adjutant General's Department.
The 147th Regiment provides institutional training within assigned career management fields, Army NCOPDS (Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System), officer candidate school, and warrant officer candidate school missions based on the collective requirements identified by the Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard Bureau.
