We now have the official cause of death for the Chase Bank employee who was killed in the deadly explosion at the Realty Building in downtown Youngstown back in May.

21 News has obtained a copy of the coroner's report for the death of 27-year-old Akil Drake, which lists the cause of death as "Blunt Force Injuries due to Gas Explosion."

According to the report, Drake's autopsy found he suffered blunt force injuries to his head and neck, as well as his torso, arms and legs. These injuries included fractures in his skull and collarbone, as well as six broken ribs among other injuries.

The death was ruled as accidental.

Drake was found dead in the rubble hours after the Realty Building in downtown Youngstown exploded after a contractor cut a gas line. Several others were injured in that blast.

Since then, Drake's family has sued the owners of the Realty Building, as well as the contractors working in the building and the gas company in a negligence lawsuit.

You can read more about that suit in our related coverage below.
