A New Middletown man has pleaded not guilty to charges filed after police say he fondled women at a Howland bar and assaulted a firefighter and several nurses.
Fifty-eight-year-old Denis Stanislaw remained held in the Trumbull County jail without bond early Wednesday following his arrest on five counts of assault and two counts of sexual imposition.
According to Howland Police, Stanislaw injured his head after witnesses say a customer threw him out of Leon’s bar on Niles Cortland Road late Saturday after Stanislaw allegedly fondled two female customers.
Police say Stanislaw kicked and screamed as medics tried to strap him to a stretcher, allegedly grabbing one firefighter by the neck.
When police went to St. Joseph Hospital to get Stanislaw’s side of the story, nurses told an officer that Stanislaw was so angry it wouldn’t be a good idea to go into his room.
Stanislaw is also accused of assaulting four nurses at the hospital.
Another court hearing for Stanislaw is scheduled for next week.
